The Planning Commission has <br />been approving projects on the assumption that they would be <br />self-supporting. If this is not the case the Planning Commission <br />should know about it. <br />Commissioner Michelotti also expressed concern about the budget <br />and the discrepancies in the required staff of the city and <br />available monies to provide it. She indicated that some solution <br />to rectify this problem must be found and pointed out that <br />Pleasanton's population had increased by 10,000 in the past four <br />years in addition to 17,000 in-commuters, where Pleasanton used <br />to be an out-commuter city. There is now a different type of <br />population and the police are experiencing different types of <br />problems. If the Planning Commission is responsible for <br />approving projects, then we have to know that the services are <br />going to be provided. <br />Commissioner Lindsey indicated that the Commission would be <br />overstepping its bounds to suggest it should approve or deny the <br />city budget. Commissioner Innes agreed it is not within their <br />scope, but feels the Commission needs to know the fiscal facts <br />regarding levels of service for administration, public safety, <br />etc. <br />After further discussion, a motion was made by Commissioner <br />Innes, seconded by Commissioner Hoyt, that the City Manager <br />designate someone to make a presentation of the approved budget <br />at the meeting following approval of the budget by the City <br />Council. This matter was approved unanimously. <br />OLD BUSINESS - Public Hearings <br />PUD-86-1, Adams/Combs/Skinner <br />Application of Earl Adams, Robert Combs, and William skinner for <br />development plan approval for a 17 unit single-family residential <br />development, to be located on an approximately 1o acre site <br />located approximately 400 feet west of Martin Avenue between Mohr <br />Avenue and Cameron Avenue. Zoning for the property is PUD <br />(Planned Unit Development)-Los Density Residential District. <br />This item was continued to 6/25/86. <br />PUD-80-14M/PUD-82-1-iM, Reynolds and Brown <br />Application of Reynolds and Brown to amend conditions of approval <br />governing development of Pleasanton Park, an industrial <br />commercial development located northwest of Hopyard Road and <br />Owens Drive to allow maximum building floor area within the site <br />to exceed 40%. <br />This item was withdrawn from the agenda. <br />- 2 - <br />
