Minutes
Planning Commission
4/9/86
Lindsey said he would be inclined toward a condition to review
the use each year to make sure that what is taking place is what
was intended. Commissioner Innes then referred to impounded
vehicles and that if vehicles are involved in accidents they
could be stored forever. Commissioner Lindsey felt a one year
review of the use would satisfy this concern.
Ken Best, spoke stating that it was his intention to put an
inexpensive use on the site until it was decided what to do with
the property. This will be an interim use. He stated he did not
know if there is any kind of alarm system that would be
satisfactory. He stated the cost of the use is rapidly
increasing with the requirements of the Fire and Police
Departments. He stated that they want a secure site but the
project has to be cost effective. Further it is possible someone
would want to store a truck or similar vehicle for awhile. There
is a concrete, block operation next door and zoning is appropriate
for this use. He said he has no objection to reasonable people
reviewing his use once a year, however, what is neat to one may
not be neat to another person. Commissions and staffs do change.
He said a truss may be junk to one person and considered not to
be junk by another.
The public hearing was closed.
A motion was made by Commissioner Innes, seconded by Commissioner
Wilson that Case UP-86-7 be approved subject to the conditions of
the staff report, removing Conditions 1(a), 1(b), 1(c) and 2, and
adding a condition requiring the Staff review this use on an
annual basis.
ROLL CALL VOTE
AYES: Commissioners Innes,
and Chairman Wilson
NOES: None
ABSENT: Commissioner Hoyt
ABSTAIN: None
Lindsey, Michelotti, Wellman
Resolution No. 2780 was entered and adopted approving Case
UP-86-7 as motioned.
NEW BUSINESS - Public Hearings
UP-85-4, Good Shepherd
Application of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for a conditional
use permit to allow for the establishment of a church in an
industrial/warehouse structure, located at 1241 Quarry Lane.
Zoninq for the property is PvD (Planned Unit
Development)-Industrial District.
Mr. Lee presented the staff report recommending approval of this
application.
- 5 -
_. _ .~_
