Chairman Wilson discussed the recent school closures for lack of <br />students and the fact that the School District has declared <br />property surplus. Commissioner Hoyt stated that the law requires <br />schools be built based on needs and property can't be sold so <br />that a new school can be built. Commissioner Lindsey supported <br />the speaker's comments. He felt that when addressing the <br />residential portion of the General Plan, the EIR should address <br />the needs of the schools. Ms. Blinn explained the reason for <br />school closures in Pleasanton and that it was budgetary and that <br />land was sold in the areas where there was no growth. The <br />Administration is working hard to monitor the needs of the <br />districts. <br />REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA <br />Mr. Lee asked for the following revisions: <br />PUD-86-3, Public Storage, continue to 3/26/86 <br />UP-86-5, Bormolini, withdraw application <br />Tract 4588, Stoneson, continue to 3/26/86 <br />The Commission agreed to these changes. <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS <br />Commissioner Innes submitted pictures of an accident between a <br />school bus and a car at Racoon Hollow/Foothill Road. Mr. Okamura <br />indicated he has talked to the Alameda County Road Department <br />engineer last week and they are waiting for a contractor to <br />remove the striping and they can then cat track and restripe the <br />area. Commissioner Innes would like the traffic committee to <br />agree on the striping program before the County proceeds. <br />Commissioner Hoyt asked the outcome by City Council concerning <br />the parking next to the Vintage Hills Park on Tawny. Mr. Okamura <br />reported that the City Council granted the request of the <br />homeowners and there will be restricted parking on Tawny. <br />OLD BUSINESS - Public Hearings <br />PUD-85-19, Vandenberghe Properties <br />Application of Vandenberghe Properties for rezoning from "O~~ <br />(Office) to the PUD (Planned Unit Development) District and <br />development plan approval to construct a four story, 64,000 sq. <br />ft. office building on an approximately 4.9 acre site located on <br />the north side of Happy Valley Road, between the Southern Pacific <br />Transportation Company right of way and Interstate 680. <br />Mr. Lee presented the staff report which recommended denial <br />without prejudice of this case. <br />The public hearing was opened. <br />- 2 - <br />
