He stated that the applicant agrees with the staff
report except for Condition No. 5. They want to conform to the
existing property and would like to work with Antrim's engineer
concerning this.
Commissioner Innes stated that the Downtown Core Area is an
extremely sensitive one regarding aesthetics. He did not feel
sufficient detail was provided for this application. There are
no material boards, etc. Mr. Swift indicated that the staff is
comfortable with the elevations and that the materials and colors
are called out on the plan. Commissioner Innes felt that the
previous development under consideration was much more
aesthetically pleasing and more material information was
furnished for the decision-making process, but if staff was
comfortable with the information submitted, he would go along
with it.
Mr. Shutts reviewed the detail of their proposal. Commissioner
Michelotti asked for an explanation of the location of the
eastern elevation and whether or not it was along Peters Avenue.
Mr. Shutts explained it is not on Peters Avenue but rather the
first building shown on Peters Avenue.
The public hearing was closed.
Commissioner Innes emphasized that while not specifically adding
a condition, particular attention be paid to the fact that this
current plan lacks accents and that some should be added to the
final plans.
8
