Minutes
Planning Commission
May 13, 1987
is considering a specific plan for the area. Most information
will be available when the specific plan has been drafted. Mr.
Szeman felt that perhaps an alternative route next to Martin
Avenue could be developed, making it wider and pleasing everyone.
Mr. Szeman stated he didn't know Kamp Drive was going to be put
through to Busch. He strongly felt there should be another route
into the area. Chairman Lindsey suggested the speakers contact
Chandler Lee relating to the specific plan for the area. Mr.
Szeman also asked why the traffic report doesn't take into
consideration Rosepark, the extension of Busch Road, etc. Mr.
Szeman further stated that no one told him Kamp Drive would ever
be designated as a collector street -- he had checked with the
Planning Department before purchasing his home.
Janet Gorlow, 3637 Kamp Drive, felt that the Kamp Drive area is
not of the same character as Martin Avenue, and that Cameron
should not be continued through their neighborhood.
Brad Hincke, 3657 Kamp Drive, asked if there is anything to
prevent the entire Trenery Drive issue from being reviewed.
Chairman Lindsey said it will come up again when the entire area
is addressed.
Bob Cooper, 3711 Trenery Drive, stated Trenery Drive was to
remain closed as a result of 3-1/2 years of public hearings
during which density, street circulation, number of houses,
traffic and safety were discussed. Mr. Cooper stated if Cameron
is closed temporarily, it will be closed forever.
Bob Borcher, 3750 Cameron, felt Cameron Drive should be built and
a gate put across it.
Gale Clark, 3605 Kamp asked about the disposition of the quarry.
Chairman Lindsey stated that the CIty does not know the answer to
this question.
The public hearing was closed.
Commissioner Michelotti reviewed the available options.
Commissioner felt that the people should be told there is a
possibility Cameron will be opened in the future if it ends up
being gated.
Commissioner Hoyt suggested the matter be continued indefinitely.
Chairman Lindsey said that bas Homes needs to be informed of a
decision soon as to the opening/closing of Cameron Drive.
Commissioner
indefinitely
to complete
commissioner
looked at wi
of record as
Tarver didn't want to
and agreed with staff's
the street, then gate
Tarver acknowledged that
th the specific plan, but
to the Commission's inter
see the matter continued
alternative recommendation
it off from the public.
the alternatives would be
felt it should be a matter
t.
- 11 -
r
