MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
JANUARY 14, 1987
Chairman Lindsey asked if there was any concern with noise with
the location of the use. Mr. Hulsey said there are no concerns
with this aspect of the use. Very few children are allowed
outside at any one time.
Commissioner Innes discussed the elevations of the buildings and
asked if staff is comfortable with the amenities. Mr. Swift
stated that the single story structure would be blocked by an
office building at the corner. The roof line is very attractive.
Roger Hartley, Koll Company, urged approval of this application
and asked that the Planning Commission clarify maintenance of
landscaping condition as stated in the first paragraph of the
report. After discussion, it was clarified that the intention
for Koll Company to conform to the CC&Rs.
The public hearing was closed.
Commissioner Innes asked if the daycare center would be available
to the public at large. Commissioner Innes discussed
conditioning the use permit in such a way to encourage the Koll
Business Park employees to get first opportunity to use the
daycare center. Commissioner Michelotti felt it would be
difficult to require exclusive use by the Koll Center.
Commissioner Innes said the condition wouldn't have to be so
restrictive that it would eliminate daycare for people already in
the program.
Chairman Lindsey discussed with the Koll Company their agreement
with the West States people regarding this. Mr. Hartley said
that Koll has asked them to give first priority to Koll Center
employees. The actual agreement hasn't been finalized yet. Mr.
Hulsey said they agree to give priority to Koll Center employees.
Commissioner Hoyt stated he hoped the childcare center is very
successful. Commissioner Michelotti stated that such a center is
badly needed in our community.
A motion was made by Commissioner Michelotti, seconded by
Commissioner Innes that Case PUD-80-2-4D be recommended for
approval subject to the conditions of the staff report.
ROLL CALL VOTE
AYES: Commissioners Berger, Hoyt, Innes, Michelotti and
Chairman Lindsey
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
Resolution No. PC-87-04 was entered and adopted recommending
approval of Case PUD-80-2-4D as motioned.
A motion was made by Commissioner Innes, seconded by Commissioner
Berger that Case UP-86-53 be approved subject to the conditions
of the staff report as all findings shown thereon are made.
- 9 -
