He urged the Redevelopment Plan not be adopted. <br />Efill Laube, 855 Main Street, stated that he agreed with <br />Mr. Caudill and he felt t{-~at previous monies mere not well <br />sperdt. <br />Pertie L~ianchi of Pleasanton returned to the Podium. She stated <br />she felt the residents were being taken advantage of by <br />commercial businesses and definitely did not support adoption of <br />the Plan. <br />The public hearing was closed. <br />Commissioner Mahern asked Mr. Lee if there are any alternate <br />financial means available. Mr. Lee indicated that practically <br />speaking there are none. The only means available are capital <br />improvement funds, City contributions, and private financing; <br />these are not significant enough to pay for large projects like <br />sewer and storm drains. <br />Commissioner Tarver asked if it would be simpler to include aIi <br />improvements now. Mr. Lee indicated that 2G years from now this <br />redevelopment option may{ not be available. <br />Commissioner Mahern asked how many residents would be affected <br />by the Redevelopment Plan. Mr. Lee said it seems that ten <br />single family homes and eight mobile home would be affected. <br />Most are in the Del Valle Park area. <br />Commissioner Mahern asked how many homeowners downtown would be <br />affected by Plan whose home would go for parking lots. Mr. Lee <br />said there are two: Mr. Rathbone`s on Ray Street and another on <br />Railroad Street. <br />Commissioner Fierger as}.ed Mr . Lee i f bi }.e trai 1 s are a part of <br />the Plan. He said they are not. <br />Commissioner Hovingh asked Mr. Lee what is the status of <br />negotiations on tax agencies. Mr.;c~llsataxtagenciesgdocnot <br />will meet next week. He said typ y <br />ob3ect to the Plan. <br />Commissioner Hovingh discussed Section 315 regarding Relocation <br />Payments with Mr. Lee. <br />Commissioner Tarver felt that more discussion time was needed <br />with staff and they needed to talk about more specifics. He was <br />not comfortable with making a decision tonight. <br />Mr. Lee said December b, 19SS is the final date and it was not <br />necessary to take action tonight. <br />Commissioner Derger supported Commissioner Tarver's comments. <br />Page 5 <br />
