Zoning for the property is "A" {Agricultural) <br />District. <br />Application continued to December 14, 1988. <br />NEW DUSINESS - Public Hearings <br />------------------------ <br />UP_-88_571_McCracken <br />Application of Charles and Rose McCracken for a conditional use <br />permit to operate a recreational facility findoor batting range <br />in conjunction with a proposed wholesale business establishment <br />{silk screening and embroidery) to be located at 7039 Commerce <br />Circle. Zoning for the property is 1-G (General Industrial) <br />District. <br />Mr. Quaglia presented the staff report and recommended approval <br />of Case UF'-88-57. He presented the Commission with a letter <br />from 'Jolley Crest Landscape Co. e::pressing apposition to the <br />application. Valley Crest felt that the location was <br />inappropriate for the proposed activity and felt that it aaas a <br />hazardous area for children who might be riding their bii:-es to <br />the batting cage. They also e:.pressed concern about the <br />possibility of vandalism to their equipment. <br />Commissioner Mahern asked Mr. Fluaglia if he felt Valley Crest <br />had a 1e~fitimate concern. He said there was always a chance of <br />the problems they cited, but did not think it was 1iE;ely that <br />vandalism would be caused by the children. <br />Commissioner Mal-sern as4;ed wh}• San Ramon Li ttl a League i s <br />involved. Chairman Micheletti said they are supplying the <br />popcorn machine. <br />Commissioner Tarver e::pressed some concern about parking far the <br />facility and wondered whether the standard of one parking space <br />far every three people would be sufficient.
