NEW DUSINESS - Public Hearings ------------------------ UP_-88_571_McCracken Application of Charles and Rose McCracken for a conditional use permit to operate a recreational facility findoor batting range in conjunction with a proposed wholesale business establishment {silk screening and embroidery) to be located at 7039 Commerce Circle. Zoning for the property is 1-G (General Industrial) District. Mr. Quaglia presented the staff report and recommended approval of Case UF'-88-57. He presented the Commission with a letter from 'Jolley Crest Landscape Co. e::pressing apposition to the application. Valley Crest felt that the location was inappropriate for the proposed activity and felt that it aaas a hazardous area for children who might be riding their bii:-es to the batting cage. They also e:.pressed concern about the possibility of vandalism to their equipment. Commissioner Mahern asked Mr. Fluaglia if he felt Valley Crest had a 1e~fitimate concern. He said there was always a chance of the problems they cited, but did not think it was 1iE;ely that vandalism would be caused by the children. Commissioner Tarver e::pressed some concern about parking far the facility and wondered whether the standard of one parking space far every three people would be sufficient.
