MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION_MEMHERS <br />Chairman Michelotti congratulated Commissioner Tarver for his <br />successful election to the City Council. She added that he has <br />stepped down tonight as a Planning Commissioner, and that <br />Commissioner Hovingh will take his place. <br />Commissioner Berger said she will be out of town for the <br />November ~~ meeting. <br />Commissioner Mahern expressed some dismay at the bright pink <br />color of the new Casanova restaurant and wondered if that is <br />the color that was approved. Mr. Swift said that color chips <br />have been compared and that it is the rose color approved by the <br />Commission. He added that the Commission can go back to the <br />owner and request a change; however, as it had been previously <br />approved, he has the right to refuse, but may wish to change it <br />because of the visual impact. <br />Commissioner Hovingh noted that he has recently looked at same <br />HAS homes and wondered whether the satellite dish there is <br />legal. Commissioner Hoyt said that it was "grandfathered" into <br />the project at inception. <br />Chairman Michelotti asked Mr. Swift to check on the length of <br />time for the signalization from Santa Rita Road to 5toneridge <br />Drive. <br />DLD BUSINESS - Public Hearings <br />------------------------ <br />PUD-98_121_Auf_der Maur <br />Application of Frank Auf der Maur for development plan approval <br />to develop ten parcels and related improvements for service <br />commercial uses to be located on an approximately 38 acre site <br />located generally in the area south of the intersection of <br />Bernal/Valley Avenues and Stanley Boulevard. Zoning for the <br />property is PUD tPlanned Unit Development? - Commercial <br />D15tr1Ct. <br />Mr. Swift presented the staff report approval of Case PUD-BS-12 <br />subject to the conditions of the the project. <br />Commissioner Berger questioned Mr. Swift regarding the FAR being <br />at iDD! tPage ~ - Site Development Standards?. Mr. Swift said <br />that is what the Cade allows far service commercial uses. <br />Mr. Swift added that he had presented the Commission with some <br />amended conditions f or the application: ba - That the setback <br />be ~D' instead of ~~'; bb - A clause was added to not require <br />berming in front of the buildings if the same intent could be <br />accomplished through the use of shrubs. <br />The public hearing was opened. <br />Page 2 <br />
