Pat Kirby, 786 Sylvaner, stated she had talked to Mr. Quaglia who
indicated all of the homes would be single story with the
exception of the one building behind the Kirby home. She felt
this to be an inconsistent policy. Mr. Quaglia reported that
there is approximately 80-100 feet between the Kirby house and
the proposed structure.
Mr. Blackburn stated they have met with a group of neighborhood
folks organized by Ron Schneider, president, of the homeowners'
association. This group contacted all of the property owners who
have property abutting the Blackburn project and incorporated all
of their concerns into the proposal. From Lot No. 17 one would
see a fence rather than a house so it was felt a single-story
wouldn't be required on this lot.
Chairman Michelotti asked if the developer would meet with the
Kirbys so that they might review the proposal. Mr. Blackburn
said he would be happy to do this.
Commissioner Tarver said he would like to be assured that the
concerns of the Kirbys would be addressed and that rights of
property owners would be protected. Chairman Michelotti asked
Commissioner Tarver if he would then like to see a change in Lot
No. 17. Commissioner Tarver aid that would depend upon the
relationship between the development and current residences.
Commissioner Hovingh stated it is pretty hard to notify persons
who move in after a project has proposed. Commissioner Tarver
made it clear he was not faulting staff but perhaps the City
should look into a different system of notification. Mr. Quaglia
stated that there had been meetings with the homeowners'
association as late as the previous Tuesday.
The public hearing was closed.
A motion was made by Commissioner Berger, seconded by
Commissioner Mahern that Tract 5908 be approved subject to the
conditions of the staff report, as modified herein, as Tract 5908
conforms to the PUD zoning district and General Plan of the City
of Pleasanton.
ROLL CALL VOTE
AYES: Commissioners
Michelotti
NOES: Commissioner
ABSENT: Commissioner
ABSTAIN: None
Berger, Hovingh, Mahern, and Chairperson
Tarver
Hoyt
Resolution No. PC-88-92 was entered and adopted approving Tract
5908 as motioned.
-15-
