C. The Ridgelands Study Area is a part of the larger area <br />designated in the Pleasanton General Plan as the "expanded planning <br />area". <br /> <br /> D. The Pleasanton General Plan was the result of two <br />citizens review committees (an industrial review and a residential <br />review) involving in excess of 300 citizens and 24 months of study <br />and review prior to its adoption by the Pleasanton City Council on <br />September 16, 1986. <br /> <br /> E. The Citizen's General Plan Review process has involved <br />citizens in guiding the development of the community, and should <br />continue. <br /> <br /> Section 3. Existing Pleasanton General Plan Policies <br /> Regarding the Ridgelands <br /> <br /> The Pleasanton General Plan establishes goals, policies and <br />programs for the Ridgelands including the following: <br /> <br /> A. Preserve views of Pleasanton and Main Ridges. <br /> <br /> B. Preserve as permanent open space all areas of outstanding <br />the scenic qualities or areas from which extraordinary views of <br />natural and man made objects can be seen. <br /> <br /> C. Encourage the City of Hayward to withdraw its annexation <br />of those areas within Pleasanton's existing and expanded planning <br />area. <br /> <br /> D. Involve citizen committees in formulation of city plans <br />and programs. <br /> <br /> <br />
