THE PLEASANTON CITIZENS RIDGELANDS PLANNING INITIATIVE <br /> <br /> The People of the City of Pleasanton do hereby ordain as <br />follows: <br /> <br /> Section 1. Declaration of Purpose <br /> <br /> The purpose of this measure is to: <br /> <br /> A. Guarantee that Pleasanton residents decide the future of <br />the Ridgelands; <br /> <br /> B. Create accessible, usable and permanent open space; <br /> <br /> C. Guarantee a vote of the citizens regarding any development <br />of the Ridgelands; and <br /> <br /> D. Continue the excellent planning process which has involved <br /> <br />hundreds of residents over the last 14 years. <br /> Section 2. Findings. <br /> <br /> A. The City Council for the city of Pleasanton has convened <br />a Ridgelands Review Committee (RRC) to review, study and recommend <br />to the City Council preferred land uses, infrastructure needs, <br />lands to be preserved in open space, and financing methods for all <br />areas within the boundaries of the map accompanying this <br />proposition and incorporated by reference. Hereafter, this area <br />shall be referred to as the Ridgelands Study Area (Ridgelands). <br /> <br /> B. The City Council has convened the Ridgelands Review <br />Committee because it is consistent with the City of Pleasanton <br />General Plan. The Ridgelands is a significant asset to the <br />citizens of Pleasanton for the continued maintenance and well being <br />of their quality of life. <br /> <br /> <br />
