compensation subject to retirement contribution. In recognition <br />of this higher contribution by the City, the base monthly <br />salaries paid these three employees, effective March 1, 1990 <br />shall be adjusted to provide the following: <br /> <br />Police Clerk (1) <br />Supvg. Police Clerk (1) <br /> <br />$2854 <br />$3287 <br /> <br />Section 17. Uniforms <br /> <br />The City shall provide all necessary safety and protective <br />clothing, as defined by the city Manager. The City shall provide <br />fifty percent (50%) of the initial purchase price of uniforms for <br />those Police and Fire Department employees required to wear a <br />prescribed uniform. <br /> <br />17.1 <br /> <br />Uniform Policy Amendments <br /> <br />The City's uniform policy governing field services,support <br />services, park maintenance and finance department employees shall <br />be amended as follows: <br /> <br />The City will provide five light weight, golf-type, short sleeve <br />shirts for wear during the summer months. The shirts will be <br />approximately 50% cotton with the color to match the color of <br />existing uniform shirts. The City will be responsible for sewing <br />on necessary patches and replacing shirts it determines to be no <br />longer serviceable. The employee will maintain the shirts in a <br />manner acceptable to the city. Employees, at their expense may <br />wear "Levis" or similar type pants in lieu of the uniform pants <br />provided by the City. The employee will be responsible for <br />maintaining the pants in manner acceptable to the City. <br /> <br />At the expiration of the City's current contract with the uniform <br />rental company (March 1991) the City agrees to provide a warmer <br />jacket to those employees so requesting. <br /> <br />17.2 <br /> <br />Uniform Allowance <br /> <br />Effective May 1, 1990 the annual uniform allowance paid to <br />employees in the classification of property and evidence <br />technician (police), senior office assistant (police), police <br />clerk, senior police clerk, supervising police clerk, senior <br />animal control officer, community service officer, parking <br />enforcement officer, fire inspector, and chemical specialist <br />(fire) shall be three-hundred dollars ($300.00) per year and <br />shall be paid in one payment on the first payday in April. <br />Effective May 1, 1991 said uniform allowance shall be increased <br />to three hundred twenty-five dollars ($325.00). <br /> <br />- 25 - <br /> <br /> <br />
