ATTACHMENT 2 <br />PLANNING COMMISSION C[TY OF pLFASANTON <br />~L~~MEDA COIN"I~l", GILIFORNIA <br />RI~SOLGTTON NU. pC-2007-U~ <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING A CO1'JDCI~IONAL USE PER~II7~ fWD DESIGN REVIEw~ <br />FOR TRINITY Lil"FNERAN CHURC[I, AS FILED UNDER CASE pCLiP-1551pDR-~13 <br />~b'HEREAS, trinity Lutheran Church has applied for a conditional use permit and for design <br />review appro~~al for the expansion of the existing "I~rinity Lutheran Church located <br />at 1225 Hopyard Road as follows: (11 replacement of the existing temporary <br />modular buildings with the construction of an approximately 8,1 10-square-toot <br />one-story education building to the easC of die existing church ~hcility: <br />(2) construction of an approximately i.108-square-foot multipurpose room <br />addition to be attached to the south oi'the existing church facility, li~outing <br />I lopyard Road; (3) expansion of the existing parking lot; and (~}) on-site <br />landscaping remo~~al and replanting; and <br />WHEREAS, zumiug for the property is R-I-6.00 (Single-Family Kesidential) DisU~ict; and <br />WHEREAS, at its duly noticed public hearing of January 24. 2007, the Planning Conm~ission <br />considered all public testimony, relevant exhibits, and recommendations of the <br />Cit} staff concerning this application; and <br />WIIERE.~~S, projects of this nature arc categorically exempt from the requirements of the <br />Caliloruia I',nvironmental (luality Act (CLQA); and <br />\~"HI:REAS, the planning Commission made the following lindings for the conditional use <br />permit: <br />The propo5cd location of the conditional use is in accordance with the objectives of the <br />zoning ordinance and the purpose of the district in ~~hich the site is located. <br />l~he objectives of the zoning ordinance include tbstering a harmonious, con~~enicnt, workable <br />relationship among laud uses; protecting existing bind use ti•om inharmonious influences and <br />harmful inU•usions; and ensuring that public and pri~~ate lands ultimately arc used [or the <br />purposes which arc most appropriate and beneficial to the Cih as a ~~hole. The proposed <br />development has been designed consistent ~~~ith the 1999 conceptual master plan. .1s <br />conditioued_ the proposed project would be consistent with the intent of the zoning code. ~fhc <br />existing church operation has generally been compatible with the surrounding neighborhood, and <br />tl~e expansion gill continue to complement the neighborhood. The applicants ~~~~ill also be <br />required to miti~,ate any futw•e nuisances, which may occw~ as a result of the proposed <br />expansion. For these reasons, this finding eau be made. <br />
