of Downtown Script to be used as cash at participating businesses. <br /> <br /> Currently underway is a Flower Faire (flowers, arts, crafts, <br />food, carriage rides, and entertainment) to be held May 12, the new <br />Heritage Days (now co-sponsored with the Pteasanton Rotary Club) <br />June 8-10 (old fashioned community picnic and concert by the Foot- <br />hill High School Band, costumes, arts and crafts, foods and beverages, <br />entertainment, over 300 square dancers, a Lions Club pancake break- <br />fast, closing reception, and souvenirs). A local resident will also <br />be honored during a Heritage activity, underwritten by the Tri- <br />Valley Herald. In addition, a bench will soon be installed in front <br />of the Valley Museum. Directional signs are to be placed around the <br />city to direct people to Historic Downtown. <br /> <br /> Also this past year the Association added the starburst to <br /> <br />the top of the City's traditional Christmas tree, took $500 of its <br />promotion budget and made a donation to Earthquake Relief, donated <br />200 coloring books to the Watsonville Children's Christmas Project, <br />set up a clothing collection barrel for quake victims, and had three <br />Toys for Tots barrels in the Downtown. <br /> <br /> PDA also hosted and assisted with the Cancer Society's Jail <br />and Bail, supported CASA's Red Ribbon Week and Pleasanton Partnerships <br />in Education, had the Easter Bunny distribute free "Rabbit Ears" on <br />the Saturday before Easter, helped by providing a clown at the November <br />dedication of Veterans Park, provided the Chamber of Commerce with <br />400 Downtown bags for Secretaries' Day and the Volunteer Center with <br />1,000 similar bags for its Human Race, gave away carnations for <br />Mother's Day, and have in progress the printing of a Downtown <br /> <br />- 3 - <br /> <br /> <br />
