The boundaries of the DPBID are Stanley Blvd. to New Bernal <br />and First Street to P!easanton Ave. (see attached map). For the <br />fiscal year there are no proposed boundary chan~es in the parkin~ <br />and business improvement area. <br /> <br />ACTIVITIES AND IMPROVEMENTS: <br /> Durin~ the past year the Association has sponsored sixteen <br /> <br />"Friday Concerts in the Park" (a series for which in January 1990 <br />the Chamber of Commerce honored the Association with a Community <br />Development Award), jointly sponsored with the Pleasanton Art <br />League and Chamber of Commerce Heritage Days last September, and <br />jointly sponsored the first annual Family Fun Cat Walk in Downtown <br />on Halloween with the City Employees Association and the Recreation <br />Department. <br /> <br /> Downtown Christmas activities included co-sponsorship of <br /> <br />the ChriStmas Tree Lighting and a December Open House in all retail <br />stores, complete with entertainment and carriage rides. Santa Claus <br />was Downtown each Thursday and Saturday, December 2 through 21. <br />Photos were available. <br /> <br /> Thanksgiving weekend through the New Year holiday, 50 lighted <br />pole decorations and 100 pole wraps decorated Main Street. Fundin~ <br />for the decorations is provided by the Association and the City of <br />Pleasanton (see budget). <br /> <br /> In January, 1990, DPBID held a Match the Face advertising <br />contest to match business owners' faces with their businesses. The <br />March activity was an Irish Sweepstakes with 50 businesses partial- <br />patina. Each business awarded a prize, and PDA gave away $~00 worth <br /> <br />- 2 - <br /> <br /> <br />
