Cl:ec•klist <br />• Where possible, the Constntction Contractor shall use newer, cleaner-burning <br />diesel-powered constntction equipment. <br />Project Measure AIR-2: Dust Control <br />The City shall control fugitive dust generated by project construction activities. These <br />measures shall include: <br />Require the Construction Contractor to prepare and implement a fugitive dust <br />control plan to be approved by the City prior to construction startup, <br />including; <br />o Water at least twice daily, and more often during windy periods <br />exposed (unpaved or not graveled) staging areas except during <br />periods of rain; <br />o Sweep street surfaces, parking areas and staging areas daily if <br />visible soil material is deposited on adjacent roads; <br />o Cover haul trucks or maintain at least two feet of freeboard; <br />o Limit vehicle speed to 15 miles per hour (mph) on any unpaved <br />surfaces; <br />o Apply clean water or other approved dust suppressants to exposed <br />dirt surfaces, as needed; and <br />o Restore vegetation in disturbed areas and restore road surfaces at <br />the conclusion of construction. <br />Project Measure CUL-1: Protection or Recovery of Data <br />The City shall hire a qualified archaeologist to conduct preconstruction research and field <br />study as appropriate and to be present on site during grading, excavation and trenching of <br />project facilities in order to determine if any bone, shell, or artifacts are uncovered. If <br />any bone, shell, or artifacts are uncovered, work in the area shall be halted and the City <br />shall be immediately notified. Project personnel shall not collect cultural resources. <br />Work near the archaeological finds shall not be resumed until a qualified archaeologist <br />has evaluated the materials and offers recommendations f'or further action. <br />Project Measure CL1L-2: Prehistoric Human Remains <br />In the event that human remains are encountered, ground disturbing activities at that <br />location shall cease immediately, and there shall be no further excavation or disturbance <br />of the site, or any nearby areas reasonably suspected to overlie adjacent human remains, <br />until the County Corner makes a determination of whether an investigation of the cause <br />of death is required or that the remains are Native American. If the Coroner determines <br />that the remains are Native American, then the Native American Heritage Commission in <br />Sacramento shall be contacted within 24 hours (by County Corner), along with the Most <br />Likely Descendant(s) of the deceased Native American (by the Native American Heritage <br />Commission), and disposition of the remains shall be in accordance will all applicable <br />laws and regulations. <br />City of Pleasanton I 1 Winzler & Kelly <br />Draft Initial Study/Proposed Negative Declaration August 2006 <br />04263501 <br />
