12.4 Life, Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance <br /> <br />As soon as practical but no later than June 1, 1990 the <br />city shall increase the present employee $10,000 life <br />and $10,000 accidental death and dismemberment insurance <br />coverage to $25,000 life and $25,000 accidental death <br />and dismemberment insurance coverage. The monthly <br />premium for life insurance coverage shall be paid by the <br />city. <br /> <br />Section 13. Retirement <br /> <br />13.1 <br /> <br />Payment of Employee Contribution to PERS <br /> <br />Effective January 1, 1988, the City shall pay the <br />employee's contribution to the Public Employees' <br />Retirement System (PERS), to incl:~de the "Single Highest <br />Year" option. The amount of said City payment shall <br />equal but not exceed nine percent (9%) of the employee's <br />compensation subject to retirement cont~?~butions. <br /> <br />The city shall allow an employee one time to convert <br />from city payment of the employee's nine percent (9%) <br />PERS contribution to employee payment of the nine <br />percent (9%) PERS contribution. The employee's base <br />monthly salary shall be increased nine percent (9%). <br /> <br />Section 14. Uniforms <br /> <br />The City shall provide all necessary safety and <br />protection clothing, as defined by the City Manager. <br />The City shall provide fifty percent (50%) of the <br />initial purchase price of uniforms for those employees <br />required to wear a prescribed uniform. <br /> <br />14.1 <br /> <br />Uniform Allowance <br /> <br />Effective April 1, 1990 the annual uniform allowance <br />shall be increased to Five Hundred and Twenty Dollars <br />($520.00). <br /> <br />Section 15. Credit Association <br /> <br />The City shall offer a voluntary payroll deduction <br />option for those employees who wish to join the City and <br />County Employees Credit Union for the purposes cf <br />transacting business with such credit union. <br /> <br />Memorandum of Understanding <br />Page 15 <br /> <br /> <br />
