<br /> <br />. .' <br /> <br />~..-;. <br />I <br /> <br />Figure 11: Home Depot Site and thc Iron Horse Trail Alignment <br /> <br />This interim alignrnent requires thrce roadway crossings and staff gave consideration to elimi- <br />nating two of these three crossings by adding a crosswalk along thc cast side of the Stanley <br />Boulevard/Valley Avenue/Bernal Avenue intersection. Adding the surface-level pedestrian <br />crossing to the east leg of this intersection, however, will adds signiticant delay to the intersec- <br />tion, as additional time is requircd to accommodate the new pedestrian rnovement. This added <br />delay would make future coordination of Stanley Boulevard irnpossiblc and reduce the level of <br />service to an unacceptable level. <br /> <br />The ultimate design of the Iron Horse Trail is to mirror the original intent of the Community <br />Trails Master Plan by extending the trail to the east along the north side of Stanley Boulevard <br />where an ultirnate trail crossing to the south side could be completed at Shadow Cliffs signalized <br />intersection. This ultimate trail design shall be incorporated into the East Side Specific Plan. <br />Until the time that this specitic plan is cornp1cted and in place, the interim trail alignment will <br />remain.
