<br />SUMMARY: <br /> <br />Page 2 of9 <br /> <br />6. Authorize the Director of Public Works to approve and execute <br />contract change orders for contingencies on the contracts noted <br />above for a not-to-exceed amount of $345,000. This amount is equal <br />to approximately 15 % of the total cost for the two construction <br />contracts and direct purchase contract amounts noted above (total of <br />$2,297,012). <br /> <br />7. Approve the appropnatIon of an amount not-to-exceed $345,000 <br />(15% of the total construction costs noted above) to provide <br />construction management, specialty inspection, soils/material <br />engineering and testing services and pre-bid and post-bid engineering <br />and shop drawing review on the contracts noted above. <br /> <br />8. Approve the appropriation of $2,987,012 as detailed in Updated <br />Draft Financing Plan for Vineyard Avenue Corridor Infrastructure <br />Improvements (Updated Financing Plan) included as item 25 (A) in <br />this agenda. <br /> <br />There were four new major water facilities necessary to serve the <br />Vineyard Avenue Corridor Specific Plan (VCSP) area when the Specific <br />Plan was adopted in 1999. These four projects included improvements to <br />an existing Zone 7 turnout or Turnout No.6, (a turnout is a large <br />metering and valve vault used to control and meter water deliveries from <br />the Zone 7's water transmission system into the City's transmission and <br />distribution system), construction of a new water booster pumping station, <br />a new water storage reservoir and a new reservoir access road and <br />pipeline to connect the reservoir to the new pump station, turnout and <br />VCSP water infrastructure. <br /> <br />On September 19, 2006, Council approved a construction contract and a <br />construction management services contract for constructing the Vineyard <br />Hills Reservoir and rough grading of the temporary tank access road <br />totaling $4.6 million. At that same meeting, Council reviewed the Draft <br />Financing Plan for Vineyard A venue Corridor Infrastructure <br />Improvements (Financing Plan) outlining the [mancial status of the VCSP <br />funds and remaining infrastructure needs for the four major water <br />facilities and all remaining non-water related infrastructure. <br />
