AND <br />TURNOUT NO. 6 PROJECT (CIP NO. 011023 T.O.) AND <br />APPROVAL OF CONTINGENCIES FOR BOTH PROJECTS TO <br />COVER CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT, SOILS/MATERIALS <br />TESTING, LANDSCAPING AND CONSTRUCTION <br />CONTINGENCIES FOR THESE FACILITIES <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action at the <br />meeting of January 16, 2007: <br /> <br />1. Approve the plans and specifications for this project. <br /> <br />2. Review the bids received and award the contract for Turnout No.6 <br />Improvements to the lowest responsible bidder, Gateway Pacific <br />Contractors Inc., in the amount of $231 ,312. <br /> <br />3. Overrule the bid protest received on the Vineyard A venue Booster <br />Pump Station and award the contract to the lowest responsible <br />bidder, JMB Construction, Inc., in the amount of $1,785,700. <br /> <br />4. Authorize the City Manager to enter into the above contracts. <br /> <br />5. Authorize the Director of Public Works to approve and execute <br />direct purchase contracts for the electrical motor control center, <br />switchgear, telemetry, control & water quality testing instruments for <br />a total of $220,000 and landscaping for $60,000 for the Vineyard <br />A venue Booster Pump Station. <br /> <br />Page 1 of9 <br />
