<br />Attached to <br />Resolution No. 06-79 <br /> <br />Design: The Design Committee includes two board members and approximately seven volunteers. This <br />committee is involved in recommending and commenting on planning and design issues to the City. They are also <br />involved in coordinating with the City to implement projects in the Downtown Specific Plan. Quarterly, the <br />committee selects one downtown property owner or business to receive the NEAT (Neighborhood Environment <br />Attractiveness Team) Award who is then recognized in The Pleasanton Weekly. The committee is currently <br />working on the design and location of an informational kiosk(s) to be built or purchased by the PDA. The Murals <br />Sub-Committee and the Side Street Sign Taskforce are under the oversight of the Design Committee. <br /> <br />SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS <br />The PDA recorded another successful year, with a number of significant accomplishments: <br />o The PDA organized and orchestrated a total of 33 events: (5) First Wednesday Street Parties; (2) Antiques <br />Faires; (14) Concerts in the Park; (1) Heritage Days; (2) Wine Strolls; (2) Inside/Out Sales; (1) Holiday <br />Evening; (I) Annual Dinner; (I) Breakfast with the Board; and (4) membership mixers. Additionally, we <br />co-sponsored the July 4th Celebration and the City Youth Concert. <br />o The Murals Sub-Committee PLAID (Pleasanton Loves Art in Downtown), has continued to move forward <br />creating guidelines, soliciting artists and working with property owners of potential sites. <br />o Increased marketing of the PDA. <br />o Produced 20,000 Experience Downtown Pleasanton brochures. The brochure incorporates 2 maps, <br />the calendar of events and a membership directory. <br />o Produced & distributed 10,000 Downtown brochures to the participants of "Good Guys" shows. <br />o Produced Dining in Historical Downtown Pleasanton guide. <br />o Produced 5,000 - 2006 Events Schedules. <br />o Initiated a What's Up Downtown monthly calendar of activities and events. <br />o Sponsored an $8000 holiday advertising campaign which included a commercial on Comcast. <br />o Continued our marketing exposure through one-on-one interactions with hotels, wineries, <br />fairgrounds, business parks and numerous companies throughout the Tri-Valley. <br />o Designed and trademarked a new logo for the PDA. <br />o Produced 5,000 mylar decals to promote downtown's new logo. <br />o Produced Downtown Happenings, a quarterly membership newsletter. <br />o Initiated a monthly E-News for members. <br />o Produced Welcome to the Pleasanton Downtown Association brochure. <br />o Created a new brochure, A Guide to Downtown Outdoor Displays, distributed to the members and <br />available at the City for new businesses. <br />o Created educational opportunities for members including a Marketing Roundtable and other seminars. <br />o Hosted a Restaurant Owners Roundtable providing an open forum for discussion on cross-promotion and <br />marketing. <br />o Created opportunities for business networking with four membership mixers in March, June, August <br />(partnering with the Chamber of Commerce) and October. Co-sponsored a Regional Mixer in January in <br />partnership with the Tri-Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Pleasanton and Livermore Chambers <br />of Commerce, and the Tri- Valley Business Council. <br />o Provided opportunities for membership feedback at the annual Breakfast with the Board meeting held <br />July 11 th at the Pleasanton Hotel. <br />o The Economic Vitality Committee, working to improve the permitting process for new and established <br />businesses, initiated discussions with the City leading to the creation of a taskforce to review and improve <br />the development services process. <br />o The Parking Sub-committee charged with finding ways to improve parking, continues to work with <br />property owners of different blocks to lay the groundwork for the creation of parking assessment districts. <br /> <br />2 <br />
