Modcratc Income: A household whosc annual income is more than 80% but <br />does not exceed 120% of the annual mcdian income for Alamcda County, bascd upon the <br />annual income ligures providcd by I-IUD, as adjusted for household sizc. <br /> <br />Household. Verv Low Incomc: A household whose annual incomc docs not cxceed 50% <br />of the annual median income for Alamcda County, based upon the annual incomc ligures <br />providcd by HUD, as adjusted for houschold size. <br /> <br />HUD: Thc United States Departmcnt of Housing and Urban Development or its <br />successor. <br /> <br />Inclusionarv Unit: A Dwclling Unit as rcquired by this Chapter which is rcnted or sold at <br />Affordablc Rents and/or Affordable Sales Priccs (as dcfincd by this Chapter) to Very <br />Low, Low, or Moderate Income Houscholds. <br /> <br />Inclusionarv Unit Credits: Credits approved by the City Council in the event a projcct <br />cxcccds thc total number of Inclusionary Units requircd in this Chapter. Inclusionary <br />Unit Credits may be used by the Project Owner to mcct the affordable housing <br />rcquircmcnts of anothcr project subject to approval by thc City Council. <br /> <br />Income: The gross annual household incomc as defined by HUD. <br /> <br />Life of the Inclusionarv Unit: The tcrm during which thc alTordability provisions for <br />Inclusionary Units shall remain applicable. The affordability provisions for inclusionary <br />units shall apply in perpetuity from thc datc of occupancy, which shall be the date on <br />which the City of Pleasanton performs final inspcction for the building pcrmit. <br /> <br />Lowcr Incomc Housing fee: A fee paid to thc City by an applicant for a projcct in thc <br />City, in lieu of providing the Inclusionary Units requircd by this Chapter. <br /> <br />Median Incomc for Alamcda Countv: Thc mcdian gross annual income in Alameda <br />County as determincd by HUD, adjusted for household size. <br /> <br />Page 3 of 13 <br />
