Section 15 Retirement <br /> <br />During the term of this contract, the city shall continue to <br />provide the PERS "Credit for unused sick leave option" and to local <br />miscellaneous members Section 21382.2 1959 survivor benefits. <br />Effective February 1, 1993 the City shall amend its PERS contract <br />for'the purposes providing the "One Year Final Compensation Option" <br />(Section 21382.2). <br /> <br />Effective March 1, 1982, the City shall pay the employee's <br />contribution to the Public Employee's Retirement System (PERS). The <br />amount of said City payment shall equal, but not exceed seven <br />percent (7%) of the employee's compensation subject to retirement <br />contributions. <br /> <br />For the one police clerk, and the supervising police clerk <br />currently enrolled in the Public Employees' Retirement System's <br />"public safety retirement program," the City shall pay their <br />contribution to PERS. The amount of said City payment shall equal <br />but not exceed nine percent (9%) of the employee's compensation <br />subject to retirement contribution. In recognition of this higher <br />contribution by the City, the base monthly salaries paid these two <br />employees, effective May 2, 1992 shall be adjusted to provide the <br />following: <br /> Police Clerk (1) $3176 <br /> Police Clerk, Sr. (1) $3659 <br /> <br />The city shall allow an employee' one time to convert from city <br />payment of the employee's seven percent (7%) PERS contribution to <br />employee payment of the seven percent (7%) PERS contribution. The <br />employee's base monthly salary shall be increased seven percent <br />(7%). <br /> <br />Section 16. Uniforms <br /> <br />The City shall provide all necessary safety and protective <br />clothing, as defined by the City Manager upon the recommendation of <br />the Department Head. The City shall provide fifty percent (50%) of <br />the initial purchase price of uniforms for those Police and Fire <br />Department employees required to wear a prescribed uniform. <br /> <br />16.1 <br /> <br />City Provided Uniforms <br /> <br />The City shall provide uniforms to certain classifications as set <br />forth in the "Employee Uniform Program" dated December 1991. <br /> <br />16.2 <br /> <br />UniformAllowance <br /> <br />Effective May 1, 1992 the annual uniform allowance paid to <br />employees in the classification of property and evidence technician <br />(police), police clerk, senior police clerk, supervising police <br />clerk, senior animal control officer, community service officer, <br />parking enforcement officer, fire inspector, and hazardous <br /> <br />- 20 - <br /> <br /> <br />
