CULTURAL RESOURCES Environmental Setting The subject site is not located in an area identified as having site-specific historical, archeological, pale- ontological or geologic features or resources. Standards of Significance For purposes of this environmental document, an impact is considered significant if the proposed project would: . Cause a substantial change in the significance of a historical or archeological resource as defined in the CEQA Guidelines Section 15064.5; or, . Directly or indirectly destroy a unique paleontological resource or site or unique geologic fea- ture. Discussion a-d) There are no known archaeological or historical sites identified on the subject site. If human re- mains are discovered during grading trenching or other on-site excavation, the City requires the applicant to: . Hire a qualified archaeologist to be present on site during the grading and trenching for the foundation(s) and utility services in order to determine if any bone, shell, or artifacts are uncovered. Work on the site will cease immediately. The archaeologist and the Na- tive American Heritage Commission and or their representative shall be consulted to de- velop, if necessary, further mitigation measures to reduce any archaeological impact to a PUD-50 and PTR-5572 Page 15 of36 June 7, 2006
