distribute residential traffic from the center of the neighborhood to residential collectors and
arterial roads. Blackbird serves as one of the primary access routes when entering the
neighborhood from the west and Woodthrush Road serves as a primary access route when
entering from the south and east.

Traffic volumes on
Blackbird Way
dissipate quickly
and are relatively
light in the center of
the neighborhood.
Woodthrush Road
has a more
consistent volume of
traffic along its
entire length of
roadway. This is
due primarily to the
direct connection
with Crestline Road
to the south and
Mohr A venue to the
east.

\ "<'~' '", / ,^- \
" ,)+0 ~., " ('---" \
/ )~., ,." The intersection on the southern end of Woodthrush Road is a two-way stop
on Blackbird. The intersection on the northern end of Woodthrush Road at Blackbird Way/
Skylark Way is currently an uncontrolled intersection (no stop signs or traffic signal). This
intersection carries approximately 1,300 vehicles per day, with over 1,100 of the 1,300 on
Woodthrush Road. All of the other 4-legged intersections on Woodthrush Road and Blackbird
have some type of stop control, with the exception of this intersection.

ANALYSIS

The Traffic Engineering Division received a request from a resident for installation of stop
signs at the intersection Woodtbrush Road at Blackbird Way/ Skylark Way. The resident cited
concerns of confusion on who had the right-of-way.

SR 06:222
