Development Block Grant that Pleasanton will receive from the United States Department <br />of Housing and Urban Development beginning in July, 1994. The second position is an <br />Economic Development Specialist as recommended by staff, the Chamber of Commerce <br />and the Pleasanton Economic Development Task Force in October, 1992. This position <br />will be responsible for establishing programs intended to recruit new businesses, maintain <br />relationships with existing businesses, and act as a trouble shooter for any problems or <br />delays encountered by businesses. This position may be filled in-house through a <br />promotion or reorganization. <br /> <br />HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR 1993-94 <br /> <br />The following are the previously approved HCD projects for 1993-94: <br /> <br /> Bay Area Community Services $5,500 <br /> Pleasanton Gardens 20,010 <br /> Kottinger Place 15,000 <br /> Tri-Valley Haven for Women 13,690 <br /> Housing Rehabilitation Program 84,945 <br /> TOTAL $139,145 <br /> <br />In addition, $7,800 is available to partially offset program administration costs. These <br />costs are reflected in the 1993-94 Operating Budget in the HCD program of the Planning <br />Department. <br /> <br />CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM <br /> <br />Staff is recommending that the 1992-93 Parks Capital Improvement Program budget be <br />amended to reflect revenue collections subsequent to the third quarter financial report. <br />The projected Park Dedication Fee revenue has been increased by $82,000, bringing the <br />projected ending balance to $933,769. <br /> <br />COMMUNITY SUPPORT <br /> <br />Exhibit I contains the requests for funding in 1993-94 from community based <br />organizations. This includes $49,000 for community access television (Channel 30's <br />production of the I580/680 News); an operating subsidy of $10,000 for the Amador <br />Historical Society; $20,000 to the Centennial Committee; $100 to the Alameda County <br />Veterans Affairs for the annual Veteran's Day parade; $6,000 to the Pleasanton <br />Downtown Association for Christmas lighting; and $10,000 to The Center. <br /> <br />A $5,000 request for funding for CASA (Community Against Substance Abuse) was not <br />recommended for funding by the Human Service Commission when they reviewed all <br /> <br />SR 93:332 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
