<br />Alameda County Transportation Improvement Authority <br />Special Transportation for Seniors and People with Disabilities <br /> <br />Some service changes that occurred in FY 2005-06, and benefited riders, included: <br /> <br />. Purchased two (2) replacement vehicles to maintain quality services. <br />· Provided community businesses with the Paratransit Tip Sheet and coordination letter <br />on best ride times for clients. <br />· Provided PPS clients with Partransit Tip Sheet and coordination letters on best ride <br />times and reservation call periods. <br />· Expanded marketing efforts by developing Transit Fair opportunity to encourage <br />clients to learn more about public transit options. <br />· Increased coordination with LA VT A to provide travel training opportunities. <br />· Initiated Measure B Gap Funded taxi study for the Tri-Valley, with final <br />recommendations to the City Council in July 2006. <br /> <br />For FY 2006-07, the following needs have been identified: <br /> <br />· Work with new assisted living facility (park View Regent) staff to develop a <br />transportation plan prior to opening of this facility in January 2007. <br />· Continue to work with the PPS Task Force to increase exposure to all types of transit <br />servICes, <br />. Implement Measure B Gap Funded taxi study findings. <br /> <br />Unruet need <br /> <br />Region-wide paratransit services continue to be a growing need, as hospitals and medical <br />providers consolidate and require clients to travel longer distances. <br /> <br />Projected new riders <br /> <br />During the first half ofFY 2005-06, 117 new riders used PPS, It is our estimate that at least <br />200 new riders will register for the service in FY 2006-07. <br /> <br />21. COORmN.\TIOI\' <br /> <br />Describe how services will be coordinated with other Measure B paratransit services and/or <br />mandated ADA paratransit services so that trips can be made throughout Alameda County. <br />Examples of coordination may include (but are not limited to) reciprocal fare agreements, <br />reciprocal agreements to provide trips into adjoining areas, arrangements for clients to ride <br />on other systems, and transfer arrangements. Attach copies of agreements or memoranda of <br />understanding for coordination. <br /> <br />Response: <br /> <br />As the primary Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) provider for the Tri-Valley <br />(Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin), the Livermore Amador Transit Authority (LA VT A) <br />completes coordination of rides into other parts of the Bay Area.
