A. The City will not reimburse for any costs associated with intra-sta/f meetings <br /> unless approved in advance by the City Manager (e.g. staff lunches and meetings <br /> are not reimbursable). <br /> <br /> B. The City will not reimburse for optional q-~i-social functions such as retirement <br /> or testimonial dinners unless approved in advance by the City Manager. <br /> <br /> C. The City will not reimburse for the cost of any alcoholic beverages. <br /> <br /> VII. CASH ADVANCES <br /> <br /> NO BLANKET PER DIEM WILL BE ISSUED. <br /> <br /> Generally the City will pay in advance for registration, hotels and air fares. All other <br /> expenses will be reimbursed after submittal of a proper "Direct Payment Claim", with <br /> the appropriatt attachment. <br /> <br /> Exceptions to this policy will be made by the City Manager when an extended <br /> conference/training would cause financial hardship to the employee. With approval of <br /> the City Manager, advances of up to 80% of the daily per diem may be given for. <br /> extended travel. All advances must be cleared with x'~zipts within 30 calendar days. <br /> Anyone with an unclesred advance will be ineligible for additional advances. <br /> <br />VIII. COMPENSATION WHILE TRAVELING <br /> <br /> A. One Day Travel. For purposes of compensation, tnvel time over and above the <br /> employee's normal commute time to and from. work shall be considered hours <br /> worked. <br /> <br /> B. OVerni_~ht Travel. For purposes of compensation, travel time which occurs <br /> within the employee's normal daily hours of work will be counted as hours <br /> work~ whether or not said travel time occurs on the employee's normal work <br /> <br /> 1. Comoensated Time: <br /> <br /> Only time delineated below is compensated. <br /> <br /> (a) Hours spent in attendance at confem~c~ s~sions. <br /> <br /> Co) Travel time corresponding to employee's regular daily hours of <br /> work exclusive of normal meal periods. <br /> <br /> F..XillI~: If employee's regular daily work schedul~ is 8 a.m. - <br /> 5 p.m. with an hour off for lunch (12 noon - 1 p.m.), hours spent <br /> <br /> B-5 <br /> <br /> <br />
