Written presentations of fewer than 500 words <br /> will be included in the minutes in their entirety on specific request of the <br /> presenter and approval of the Council. Presentations over 500 words will <br /> be summarized and included by reference. <br /> <br /> 2. Reading of Minutes <br /> <br /> Unless the reading of the minutes of the City Council meeting is requested <br /> by a Council member, the minutes may be approved without reading if the <br /> Clerk has previously furnished each Council member with a copy. <br /> <br /> 3. Audio tape recordings of meetings <br /> <br /> It is the policy of the City Council to record its regular meetings on audio <br /> cassette tape. <br /> <br /> a. Not official records <br /> <br /> The audio tapes of the Council meetings are .not the official record <br /> of those meetings. The minutes recorded by the City Clerk and <br /> approved by the City Council constitute the only official record. <br /> <br /> b. Maintenance of Cassette Tapes <br /> <br /> Cassette tapes will be maintained in the City Clerk' s office for 10 <br /> years. Tapes may be reviewed by Council members, staff, and the <br /> public at the City Clerk's office, but <br /> ~ verbatim transcripts arc nat <br /> <br />IV. MEETING ORDER & ATTENDANCE <br /> <br /> A. Presiding Officer <br /> <br /> The Mayor, if present, shall preside. In the Mayor's absence, the Vice-Mayor <br /> shall preside. In the absence of both, the Council members present shall cl^,.ct <br /> ~!~ a Presiding Officer. <br /> <br /> The Presiding Officer shall preserve order and decorum at all meetings of the <br /> Council, announce its ~ decisions on all subjects and decide all questions of <br /> order, subject, however, to an appeal from Council Members. <br /> <br /> B.
