7.5 ~ <br />7,5(Z) Sick ~eave Aocrual <br /> <br /> A. Management and confidential employee shall during <br /> his/her first year of employment earn sick leave at <br /> the rate of eight (S.0) hours for each month of <br /> service. On the employee's first anniversary <br /> date, each employee shall receive three hundred <br /> eighty-four (384.0) hours sick leave, in addition <br /> to the sick leave earned but not used during the <br /> first year of employment. Upon completion of five <br /> (5) years of service, each employee shall again <br /> earn sick leave at a rate of eight (S.0) hours per <br /> month to a maximum accumulation of one thousand, <br /> four hundred forty (1,440) hours of sick leave <br /> except as follows. Management and confidential <br /> employees may accumulate an unlimited number of <br /> sick leave hours, except, however, hours <br /> accumulated in excess of one thousand four hundred <br /> and forty (1,440) may be used only to apply toward <br /> additional years of service under the current PERS <br /> "Credit for Unused Sick Leave", Government Code, <br /> Section 20862.8. <br /> <br /> B. An employee on leave of absence with pay in lieu of <br /> temporary disability payments pursuant to Section <br /> 4850 of the Labor Code shall accumulate sick leave <br /> during said leave of absence, in accordance with <br /> the provisions of that section. <br /> <br /> 7.5(4) Sick Leave Usaqe <br /> <br /> A. Management and confidential employees shall be <br /> eligible for sick leave with pay. Sick leave shall <br /> not be considered a right which an employee may use <br /> at his/her discretion, but shall be allowed only as <br /> follows: <br /> <br /> 1. In cases of necessity and actual personal <br /> sickness or disability of the employee; <br /> <br /> 2. For medical and dental appointments of the <br /> employee, at the discretion of the employee's <br /> supervisor; <br /> <br /> 3. For the care of, or attendance upon, the <br /> sickness or disability of members of the <br /> <br /> - 9 - <br /> <br /> <br />
