captain. Within each rank, bids shall be made by <br /> seniority. Shift and /or station openings occurring during <br /> the calendar year shall be posted on all station bulletin <br /> boards and filled through the bidding procedure described <br /> in this paragraph. Firefighters, fire engineers, and fire <br /> officers will be allowed to remain at one station for a <br /> maximum of three (3) consecutive years. <br /> Mutuals are agreements between employees of the same rank <br /> to change assignments to specific shifts and /or stations. <br /> Employees assigned as firefighters /paramedics may only <br /> change assignments with other employees assigned as <br /> firefighters /paramedics. Mutuals shall be considered <br /> trades between the employees involved. There shall be no <br /> limit on the number of mutuals, except that if an employee <br /> through mutuals remains at the same station for more than <br /> three (3) years, the Fire Chief may temporarily transfer <br /> the employee for the purpose of training to another <br /> station for a period not to exceed ten (10) shifts. <br /> The Fire Chief may reassign an employee to another station <br /> for the purpose of serving an acting assignment and /or <br /> temporary promotion as outlined in Section 7.2. <br /> Section 7. Overtime <br /> 7.1 Payment <br /> An employee who is assigned to work after completion of <br /> his /her regular shift or who is assigned to work to fill <br /> a shift or portion thereof outside his /her regular duty <br /> shift, shall be entitled to overtime compensation for all <br /> hours so worked, provided, however, that the overtime <br /> payment shall be computed at one and one -half (1 -1/2) <br /> times the employee's 24 -hour rate of pay in 30- minute <br /> increments as follows: <br /> Overtime Worked Paid As <br /> 1 through 30 minutes 30 minutes <br /> 31 through 60 minutes 60 minutes <br /> 61 through 90 minutes 90 minutes <br /> 91 through 120 minutes 120 minutes <br /> etc... <br /> An employee assigned to work outside his /her regular shift <br /> to attend a meeting or participate in training shall be <br /> entitled to overtime compensation for all hours so worked, <br /> provided, however, that the overtime payment shall be <br /> - 10 - <br />
