In response to a question from Commissioner Sedlak, Mr. Fulford stated using the lawn area on
the west comer of the park as a potential overflow parking lot for events was part of the original
Master Plan.

Commissioner Sedlak asked if the issue of a turn lane off of Valley into the parking lot had been
resolved. Mr. Fulford stated this is not feas~le because of the distance between the other
intersections--they are too close.

Referring to parking in the tuff area, Mr. Singer stated if it was going to be used for parking it
would have to be flat and it would probably attract sport activities. This should be considered as
it is the only tranquil area in the park.
Commissioner Maas asked approximately how many vehicles can be accommodated at this
location for parking. Mr. Evans stated there are 64 spaces intended for Phase III, and there are
46 in Phase I.
CHAIRMAN SILVA DECLARED THE PUBLIC HEARING OPENED.
Bob M -- (did not fill out speaker card) stated he fe~ls rest room facilities are a must.
Michael Ottati, 9002 Longview Drive, stated be spends a lot of time playing tennis at the park
but noted the park is locked up a lot. He suggested renting keys on an annual basis or
some other alternative be considered to keep the courts open. Mr. Ottati discussed the current
access to the park. He pointed out on the map the location at which he needs to access the park
and discussed the problems he encounters.
Chris Houdeshell, 3035 Garden Court, Tracy, CA 95376, stated his support for hamtball courts
and feels it is a sport which is supported by the community. He feels this is a sport which
young people cannot participate in because of the limited access to the sport unless they have
family who belong to a club. Mr. Houdeshell presented a letter from Vern Roberrs, the
Executive Director of the United States Handball Association, which supports at a national level
the COmmURity development of handball.
Mike Virani, 7813 Paseo Santa Cruz, stated his house faces the proposed overflow parking lot
which was discussed earlier.
