In the case where the eligible employee is <br />deceased, the amount the City is obligated to pay shall be reduced by 'f (one half). If the spouse <br />remarries, the obligation by the City shall terminate. <br />The City reserves the right to meet and confer with the Union for the purposes of coordinating <br />retired employees hospital and medical care in the event Federal or State legislation is implemented <br />that effects retiree's medical insurance. <br />The City will contact the health care providers and seek the opportunity to place retirees under the <br />active plans. <br />Effective on the first day following City Council approval of this agreement, the City shall <br />contribute an amount not to exceed sixty -five dollars and eighty -five ($65.85) per month per <br />employee to provide dental care benefits under the City's present dental plan for the individual <br />employee and eligible dependents. Effective January 1, 1996, said maximum monthly contribution <br />will be increased to an amount not to exceed seventy -two ($72.00) dollars per month. Effective <br />January 1, 1997, said maximum monthly contribution shall be increased to an amount not to exceed <br />eighty -one ($81.00) dollars per month. In addition, following City Council adoption of this <br />Memorandum of Understanding, the City will increase the maximum orthodontia coverage to <br />$1,500. <br />30 <br />
