Section 9. Holiday Pay <br />Fifty -six (56) hour work week employees shall be compensated for working holidays each year <br />through receipt of holiday in lieu pay. This compensation shall be seven and one -half percent (7- <br />1/2%) of the employee's annual salary, exclusive of any overtime. Such compensation shall be <br />paid in two equal installments. Such payments are to be made on the first payday after December <br />1 and the first payday after June 1. <br />Employees shall receive prorated holiday pay upon termination. <br />The following holidays will be observed for employees in the classes of Fire Inspector and <br />Hazardous Materials Coordinator. <br />1. New Year's Day <br />2. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (third Monday of January) <br />3. President's Day (third Monday of February) <br />4. Memorial Day (last Monday of May) <br />5. Independence Day <br />6. Labor Day (first Monday of September) <br />7. Veterans' Day <br />8. Thanksgiving Day <br />9. Day after Thanksgiving Day <br />10. December twenty -fifth (25th) <br />11. December thirty first (31st) <br />Section 10. Dnwnm entation regarding Organized Mess <br />The Department shall provide the documentation required by the Internal Revenue Service for the <br />deduction of the cost of meals taken as part of an organized mess. <br />Section 11. EMT Pay <br />Employees in the suppression classifications represented by the Union shall be paid EMT pay as <br />specified in the October 31, 1996 letter of understanding. <br />Section 12. Paramedic Pay <br />Paramedics will receive additional compensation while serving in the assignment. The <br />compensation received shall be a Flat dollar amount equal to ten percent (10 %) of "6th" step <br />firefighter. Except as specified below, paramedic compensation shall not be included in the <br />calculation of any additional premium pay including but not limited to Department overtime, <br />holiday pay, educational incentive pay, or acting officer pay. Paramedic compensation shall be <br />included in the calculation of FLSA overtime, if any, and shall be subject to PERS contributions. <br />Paramedic compensation shall be paid bi- weekly.
