Goals & Objectives Pleasanton Cultural Plan <br /> <br /> Objectives <br /> i' Continue to expand and promote the City. of Pleasanton's Casa Java program <br /> focusing on programming, promotion, and audience development: <br /> <br /> =:, Develop a new programming format which provides opportunities for <br /> existing youth arts programs to showcase talents (e.g., High School <br /> concert percussion andjarz bands, etc., and literaO', fine and performing <br /> arts). <br /> ~Consider alternative locations <br /> ~ Create audience development approach involving youth leadership and <br /> peer networking sales effort <br /> ~ Work with members of the City's Youth Commission and other youth <br /> leadership in determining program/marketing approaches <br /> <br /> · In collaboration with the Pleasanton Unified School District (PU SD) and <br /> other partners (e.g., PPIE, Cultural Arts Council, Youth Master plan, private <br /> sector, etc.), explore opportunities to enhance arts education programs. <br /> <br /> · Explore opportunities for development of a Pleasanton Teen program to <br /> accommodate cultural activities. <br /> <br /> · Explore opportunities for development of exhibition spaces to accommodate <br /> art work by the City's young people. <br /> <br /> · Continue to enhance the City of P!easanton's arts and cultural recreation <br /> classes to serve a broader cross-section of the City's young people (e.g., film <br /> and video, rock band performance, etc.). <br /> <br /> · Continue to work with Pleasanton's cultural institutions (e.g., <br /> Amador/Livennore Valley Historical Society) to develop age appropriate <br /> programs and exhibitions (e.g., hands-on and interactive) for the pre-school <br /> and K- 12 student populations. <br /> <br /> · Seek opportunities to expand and enhance the City' s and PUSD's <br /> multicultural programs (including performances and exhibitions, etc.) <br /> <br /> · Develop a Spring Festival featuring PUSD bands and other music <br /> ensembles. <br /> <br /> · Together with area High School Band Boosters and other cultural <br /> organizations, explore means to expand resources to support Band and other <br /> cultural activities. <br /> <br /> · Develop a theater performance and training program for children and teens: <br /> ::> Create implementation plan which delineates funding, staffing, facility, <br /> and other resource needs <br /> :=> Identify target audiences for participation and attendance <br /> =:, Identify potential sources of non-City funding and sponsorships <br /> <br /> ~IMS Planning &Research 10 <br /> May 1998 <br /> <br /> <br />
