Commissioner Roberts advised that paragraph 7 on page 9 should be changed to read, <br />"G'oirimissioner Roberts indicated that - - - this jireaZ versiorz <br />wus a mujor improvement over the first draft- <br />Commissioner Blank noted that on paragraph 6 of page 9, his intention was to include his <br />commendation of Ms. Stern for an outstanding job in the motion recommending that the <br />Draft Energy Element be forwarded to City Council to make it part of the record- <br />Commissioner Blank advised that the second bullet sentence of the first paragraph on <br />page 16 should be changed to read as follows: "C'ommissioner Blank noted that the <br />freeways can be the designated emergency landing area for helicopters-" <br />Commissioner Blank noted that the sentence of the first paragraph on page 1 9 should be <br />changed to read as follows: "Commissioner Blank state that the evaluation...and that the <br />City of Pleasanton is not empowered to do this, the FAA - -"' ~'^ ---'-~~ ' ~ ~_"~, <br />p£e--aii-ng has established procedures und_federul pre-cxc mption will pre-empt any <br />City policy. <br />Commissioner Blank advised that the first sentence of the first paragraph on page 28 <br />should be changed to read as follows: "Commissioner Blank stated that he was <br />conflicted about the project because he is in favor of affordable housing, I~gal-~or <br />^"-`~o~--=~~, whether or not it met the ZegaZ definition of~affordabiltty under the law, on the <br />one hand.... <br />Commissioner Blank advised that it should be noted under the first item (Temporary Use <br />Permits for Animals) under Matters Initiated by Commission Members on page 29 that <br />the Commissioners concurred to agendize the matter for a future Commission meeting- <br />Commissioner Blank stated that it should also be noted under the second item (Fire <br />Sprinklers under Matters Initiated b Commission Members on page 29 that the <br />Commissioners also unanimously concurred to agendize the item for a future <br />Commission meeting- <br />Commissioner Pearce noted that the last sentence of the first paragraph on page 8 should <br />be changed to read as follows= "She added that she had talked to an adj acent~ <br />neighbor who indicated that they -'=-' - ~ '------- -- ---'-'~------ -- =~'- could Sze ither .retell nor <br />hear the chickens." <br />Commissioner Pearce stated that the sentence on the third paragraph on page 19 should <br />be changed to read as follows: "Commissioner Pearce stated that all natural archive <br />database man-made catastrophic ~ ~'-^--'~' emergencies could be addressed by <br />Homeland Security-" <br />Ms_ Decker advised that a letter, dated August 9, 2005, was received from Mr. and <br />Mrs. Diaz regarding their interpretation of the minutes. She added that staff had gone <br />through the reconstruction. of the minutes and thanked the Diazes_ She recommended. that <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES August 10, 2005 Page 2 of 19 <br />
