She believed that the two sports fieids could be irioved south of Valley <br />Avenue or to the train station location- She believed that lighted tennis courts were <br />needed -and did not think the teen center should be associated with the youth club because <br />the youth would then congregate elsewhere- It was her experience that private youth <br />clubs tended to be very organized and that the teens wouldn't go there. If the cultural arts <br />center could not be located. in the northeast corner, she would prefer the area south of <br />Valley Avenue- She agreed with Mr_ O'Callaghan's analysis of the acoustics and did not <br />believe it would be a signil3cant problem- Shc did not believe the amphitheatre should be <br />in the meadows or close to homes- She believed the train station should be an alternative <br />because of the negotiations with the County of Alameda. because the station is not <br />located on City property, that issue was riot resolved. She would like the street name <br />Laguna Creek Lane to be changed because the translation means Lake Creek bane. <br />-- Commissioner I31ank preferred Option D and liked the: cultural arts center where it is so it <br />may be showcased. He would like tennis courts to be included- <br />Commissioner Fox believed the cultural arts center should be closer to Downtown. <br />d_ Identification of the Highest Prio rite Protects for the FY 2005-06 th rough <br />FY 2008-09 Capital Imnrovement Program <br />Steve I3ocian, Deputy City Manager, presented tlzc staff report and explained that the <br />Capital Improvement Program ~C7P~ represents a comprehensive plan to meet the City's <br />capital improvement needs over the next four years- He presented a brief background <br />and the history of the C1P and requested the Commission to review the projects listed in <br />Attachments 1 and 2 of the statt~report and. designate its highest priority project(s).
