Commissioner Arkin believed that the Council voted on this issue.
Commissioner Fox noted that she was surprised that the issue was brought up again at the
previous night's Workshop.
Commissioner Arkin recalled that with respect to the 1 996 General Plan, Jennifer
Hosterman stated that she would like to have a hearing, a consensus was reached, a
hearing was held shortly thereafter, and the Council voted to remove the interchange.
Commissioner Fox believed that was also discussed in April 2003.
Commissioner Roberts believed that a memo to the Council from the Planning
Commission requesting that it state at the beginning of workshops that a particular item
has been removed.
Commissioner Blank moved that the Planning Commission draft a memo citing the
City Council's previous formal vote to remove the West Las Positas Boulevard
interchange from the General Plan_
Commissioner Roberts seconded the motion.
Ms. Nerland noted. that a formal vote could not be taken because this item was not
agendized. She suggested that staff draft a memo to the City Council in response to
questions raised at the Planning Commission.
Commissioner Arkin requested that staff research this issue and present the information
at the next meeting.
Commissioner Fox noted that a joint workshop had taken place during which City
Council directed staff to take it out of the traffic model. She noted that the intersection
still showed up on traffic documents as if that decision had not taken place.
Chairperson Maas noted that the next joint General Plan review workshop would be held
on January 25, 2005 and that the next Planning Commission meeting would. be
January 26, 2005.
Commissioner Arkin requested that either the memo or a copy of the resolution be
available be Fore the January 25, 2005 meeting.
Ms. Nerland advised that staff would research the actions of the City Council regarding
the interchange and would draft a memo stating the Commission's concern that the
interchange still showed in the traffic model. 'i'he memo would also state that the
Commission would also like that item formally agendized for the next meeting.
Commissioner Blank suggested that this issue be agendized for the next Planning
__._. CJommission meeting.
PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES January 12, 2005 Page 19 of 21
