staking were unsuccessful in locating the existing 12" water transmission line adjacent to the
Zone 7's flood control channel and therefore, the use of ground penetrating radar will be used
to determine the 12" pipe location.

TASK 2
The preliminary project site location for the Pimlico Turnout was determined to be unsuitable
because of existing utility conflicts. Several utilities were in conflict, including a PG&E high-
pressure gas main that would conflict with the turnout station's foundation and piping. Instead
of relocating the utility lines, an alternative site was identified across the street, which avoids
the PG&E high-pressure gas line. The site relocation will avoid utilities, but will require
additional topographic surveying and a change in the existing street geometry to accommodate
the building pad location and driveway access to the water turnout facilities.

TASK 3
Preliminary soil samplings of the existing soils were taken along the Stoneridge pipeline and
Pimlico pipeline aligmnent. Soil test results determined the soils to be corrosive and therefore
detrimental to the future water piping. Therefore, the project scope will be expanded to
provide for the design and installation of a galvanic anode cathodic protection system to avoid
corrosion damage.

TASK 4
In order to meet the operational needs of the City to fully utilize the storage capacity in the
existing Tassajara water tank, a motorized operational valve will be installed within the
existing water pipeline system along Santa Rita Road. The motorized valve will be operated
remotely and tied into the City's existing SCADA system. The additional scope of work will
include determining the site location needs, selecting the valve equipment to operate within the
operation design range, designing the vault to house the valve and appurtenant hardware and
integrating the valve's operation into the City's existing SCADA system.

TASK 5
A portion of the Stoneridge water pipeline alignment runs in land owned by the Zone 7 Water
Agency and will necessitate the need for an easement from the Zone 7 Water Agency.
Additional services will be required to prepare a plat and legal description of the easement
boundary for the dedication.

TASK 6
Originally, it was planned to combine both projects as one, but because of the complexity of
the work associated with the Pimlico water turnout station, the operational valving on Santa
Rita Road, and the additional permitting needs through Caltrans for the Santa Rita valve
installation, it was determined to be more efficient to separate the projects into two distinct bid
packages. This will allow the Stoneridge project to go forward up to six months sooner than

SR 06:051
