Starr is recommending that the <br />City Council approve Contract Amendment No.1 ror Consultant Services <br />vvith Go So Dodson and Associates for an additional amount not-to-exceed <br />$31,831.650 <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor and Members or the City Council: <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />On April 20, 2004, the City or Pleasanton entered into a consultant contract vvith Dodson <br />Engineers to provide engineering shop dravving revievv and specialty construction inspection <br />services during the construction of the Vineyard Corridor Specific Plan sanitary se~er lift <br />station. The subject sanitary sevver lift station ~as approved as part or the Vineyard Corridor <br />improvements and is located at the northem side of Vineyard Avenue, approximately 500 feet <br />easterly or Pietronave Lane 0 The sanitary sevver lift station is designed to serve the entire <br />Vineyard Corridor Specific Plan area 0 The City commonly enters into separate consultant <br />contracts to provide engineering shop dravving revievv and specialty inspection services during <br />the construction of pump stations, as the City does not staff specialists in these areas. Dodson <br />Engineers has provided these services on a time and materials basiso Unfortunately, the <br />construction or the lift station has taken a longer time to construct than originally anticipated 0 <br />Thus, it is necessary that the contract vvith Dodson Engineers be amended to make available <br />additional inspection hours to provide the same level or examination through the completion of <br />the vvork. Starr is recommending that the contract vvith Dodson Engineers be amended to <br />provide ror the extra inspection hours to assure conformance vvith the approved plans and <br />specifications 0 <br /> <br />Consultant amendment <br /> <br />A scope or vvork, to finish the inspection services, vvhich includes a fee estimate, has been <br />proposed by Dodson Engineers. The basis ror compensation vvill be on a time and materials <br />basis 0 The original contract vvith Dodson vvas ror $58,4000 This amendment adds an <br />additional $31,831.65 to the contract, bringing the nevv not-to-exceed amount to $90,231.650 <br /> <br />Reimbursement ror Consultant Fees <br /> <br />The Vineyard Corridor sevver lift station is designed to serve the Vineyard Corridor Specific <br />Plan area. Pursuant to the terms or Vineyard Avenue Corridor Specific Plan Financing <br />Program approved by City Council on March 7, 2000, developers are obligated to either pay <br />specific plan rees or construct infrastructure improvements equal to the cost or their specific <br />plan rees 0 <br />SR 06:005 <br />Page 2 of3 <br />
