C=ommissioner Roberts noted that a kitchen 20 years in the future may be so different that <br />the current technology may not be useful or desirable- <br />Commissioner Sullivan did not believe that the green building condition should be <br />changed, and added that it had been developed to be flexible- He inquired why the <br />conditions were being changed for this one prof ect_ <br />Mr_ Iserson noted that the condition was revised because the condition contained a <br />signi £icant amount of mandating language in a voluntary issue- Staffs intent was to <br />partially satisfy each party, and he emphasized that staff did not make a practice of <br />changing conditions whenever asked- He believed that there was a solid rationale for <br />changing the condition upon staff evaluation- <br />In response to an inquiry by Chairperson Arkin, Mr_ Iserson noted that 240 Spring Street <br />had the same original conditions. <br />Ms_ Nerland inquired whether Mr_ William Miller found the conditions of approval to be <br />acceptable. <br />Commissioner Maas inquired why the applicant's approval of the conditions was being <br />sought. <br />Ms_ Nerland replied that it was intended to place the owner's statement on the record, since <br />he had not spoken during the public hearing. She noted that he may not wish to accept the <br />conditions, and that the Commission may still vote to include the conditions. <br />Mr_ Miller, owner, noted that he found the conditions to be acceptable. He noted that any <br />window was a mixture of synthetic and wood. <br />Commissioner Kameny withdrew the previous motion, and made a substitute motion <br />to approve PDR-265 by taking the following actiousc <br />1_ Make the certificate of appropriateness findings required for <br />demolition listed in the staff report; and <br />2_ Adopt a resolution approving Case PDR-265 subject to Exhibit B, draft <br />conditions of approval (including the original Condition #22, as written <br />in the staff report. <br />3_ Include a requirement for wood frames on the windows. <br />Commissioner Roberts seconded the motion. <br />ROLL CALL VOTE <br />AYES: Commissioners Arkin, Kameny, Maas, and Roberts. <br />NOES: Commissioner Sullivan <br />ABSTAIN: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES February 26, 2003 Page 12 <br />
