CITY OF PLEASANTON
VINEYARD & BERNAL AVENUES STREETSCAPE
NOVEMBER 17. 2005

13. . SCOPE OF WORK

2.1.1. Surveying - In conjunction with preparing the topographic map,
CONSULTANT will survey roadway cross sections, intersection
lane configurations, traffic control devices, identify existing
underground and overhead infrastructure, and other existing
improvements as determined by CONSULTANT as needed to
design the roadway. The Project Engineer will supervise the field
survey to ensure the field survey includes items for the design team
to tie-in affected surface conforms, and overhead facilities. Perform
3 days of field surveying.

2.1.2. Field Revievv - The physical characteristics of the site and the
surrounding roadway network will be reviewed to identify existing
roadway geometry including roadway cross-sections, intersection
lane configurations, traffic control devices, and surrounding land
uses. In order to address tree and environmental impacts of the
project, field explorations will entail compiling a visual and
photographic inventory of existing landscape conditions within the
project area, including parcel frontage improvements and existing
vegetation.

Electrical Facilities - This task will consist of walking the site to
help clarify the locations of electrical service facilities and other
physical factors affecting the electrical connections.

2.1.3. Pavernent ISoil Evaluation -This project requires the evaluation of
the existing pavement section. Our Goetechnical Engineers, GEl,
will perform 5 geotechnical borings and prepare a technical
memorandum outlining pavement design criteria. Proper
documentation of the existing section will affect the design of the
reconstruction, the project specifications, and the Contractor's
ability to perform the Work at the most cost effective manner.
Permission to access the street will be provided by the City.

We would also ask GEl to provide demolition coring so that our
demolition plan would identify pavement thickness for construction.

2.1.4. Prelirninary Landscape Surveys - Consultant will provide a basic
site investigation and evaluation of existing landscape conditions
and report their suitability with respect to protection or removal.
Included with this investigation is the identification of any existing
trees requiring removal or protection.

2.2. Office Mapping - The aerial topography map combined with the field
survey information will serve as the Project Topographic Base Map. Basis
of Bearing and Benchmark will be included on the Survey.

~

BELLECCI & ASSOCIATES. INC
