Chapter 1-General Information mended- <br /> <br />Section 1-1 Scope is amended to read: <br /> <br />This standard describes the requirements for the mechanical and performance properties of the <br />sprinkler itself. It also describes the requirements for the installation of the complete sprinkler <br />system for residential occupancies up to fifteen (15) units or twelve thousand square feet <br />(12,000) maximum. <br /> <br />Chapter 1-General Information - amended <br /> <br />Section 1-5.4 is amended to read: <br /> <br />Section I-5.4 All systems shall be tested for leakage at 200 psi for two (2) hours. <br /> <br />Chapter 1-General Information - added <br /> <br />Section 1-5'.6 is added to read: <br /> <br />Section 1-5.6 All sprinkler piping shall be either non-ferrous metallic pipe (copper, or brass) <br />or CPVC. All piping above the flow switch should be protected by wall board or plywood. <br />Note: No ferrous (black iron, iron or galvanized) pipe is permitted. Fire sprinkler riser check <br />valves shall be approved by the City and Fire Prevention Bureau. <br /> <br /> CHAPTER 3-System Components - amended <br /> <br /> Section 3-1.1 Valves and Drains is amended: <br /> <br />Section 3-1.1 Exception No. 1 (a) amended to read: <br /> <br /> (a) To a Underwriters Laboratory (UL) listed Central Station Service. <br /> Delete (b) and (c). <br /> <br /> CHAPTER 3-System Components - amended <br /> <br /> Section 3-3 Piping is amended: <br /> <br /> Section 3-3 is mended to delete all references to ferrous metal pipe.
