The first meeting was held on August 18, 2005 with five representatives from St. Clare's <br />Episcopal Church: Mr. Tim Mattheis - Architect, Mr. Dennis Loyer, Mr. Peter Jackson - a <br />St. Clare's and Mason's Temple Board member, Mr. Louis Schiano, and Mr. Dave Wilhnore. <br />Representatives for the Valley Trails Neighborhood Association included Mr. Bill Dawe, <br />Ms. Sharon Dawe, Mr. Ted Crowton, and Mr. Carl Pretzel. Several additional Valley Trails <br />residents also attended to observe the process. <br /> <br />The August 18, 2005 summary notes, Attachment 3, provide the results of the first meeting. At <br />the meeting, the Church representatives articulated their vision and facility needs for the future, <br />and the neighborhood representatives expressed their concerns and clarified what their issues <br />were. The issues were identified to be: <br /> <br /> 1) No driveway access to National Park Road <br /> · Assurances that it could not occur in the future <br /> <br /> Resolution Permanent memorial garden at the north portion of the site <br /> adjacent to National Park Road <br /> <br /> 2) Interface with the northern residences · Desire for no parking (noise, loitering, lighting) <br /> · Desire for no building (visual obtrusiveness, massing, privacy) <br /> · Desire for open space buffer <br /> <br /> Resolution - Permanent memorial garden · Landscaped <br /> · Open <br /> · Quiet <br /> <br /> 3) Site Aesthetics/Landscapin~Fencing - next to preschool along National <br /> Park Road <br /> · Desire for improved appearance to the neighborhood <br /> · Maintenance <br /> · Safety of children, visibility of play area <br /> <br /> Resolution - New painted open metal fence with landscaping along pre- <br /> school play area <br /> · Install with Phase I <br /> <br /> SR:05:244 <br /> Page 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
