SUMMARY NOTES
JOINT MEETTNG - AUGUST 18, 200S
VALLEY TRAILS NEIGHBORS AND St. CLARE'S CHURCH

SUMMARY OF CONCUSZONS:

Neighborhood and Church representatives agreed that the following could
meet the needs of both group~.

1. An attractive fence, with integrated landscaping replaces the current chain
link fencing around the pm-school area as part of Phase ! of the project.

2. A "no-driveway on National Park Dr." condition is written into the permit.

3. Landscaping buffers are placed around newly added parking areas,
currently scheduled for Phase IT of the project.

4. Additional parking areas are placed so as not to abut National Park Drive
and so as to leave approx. 30-40 feet of clearance at the north edge of the
site which backs onto homes, A three point turn-areund for emergency
vehicles is accommodated in this lot.

5. A landscaped berm is added along the north edge of the site to block light
and noise.

6. A permanent memorial garden or labyrinth with good borders is placed in
the area that was slated for the "hammerhead" parking lot.

There was also agreement or acknowledgement of the following/JrdJtatJOlf$;

1. No driveway can be placed behind the Mason's building (on the north side)
due to lack of appropriate space to safely allow ingress and egress onto
Hopyard.

The following suggestions were also offered as po~Jbilitie$ to explore:

1. Could driveway on Valley Trails move east to allow worship hall to move
south to allow more space for driveway connection to upper parking lot?
{This might shuttle more traffic into the neighborhood because of back-up in
the turn lanes at the lights.}

2. Could the Mason's planned storage addition be shifted to another side of
their building to allow more space for upper parking lot? (Masonic
participant indicated that interior design and usage of the building may
preclude this.)

1
