Parking

The Municipal Code does not specifically define the number of parking spaces required for park
uses. A total of 64 paved spaces are proposed to accommodate the normal use times. The
additional proposed 48 gravel spaces should adequately accommodate overflow parking in terms
of amount.

Noise

Development of the Project would generate added noise primarily from vehicular traffic, small
crowd baseball game cheering, and amplified game announcing. Noise created by traffic would
initially be confined to Valley Avenue and Bernal Avenue. Upon completion of the Valley
Avenue under-crossing at the railroad tracks, traffic noise will become more disbursed to include
the Valley Avenue route to Case Avenue and Sunol Boulevard.

Noise created by crowd cheering and amplified sound at baseball games would be adequately
mitigated by the more than 800-foot wide open space buffer between the fields and the nearest
residential neighborhood to the west.

Future construction activities would generate short-term noise impacts both on-site and in the
nearby surrounding area. Construction activity is subject to the City's Noise Ordinance that,
among other things, limits construction hours.

Aesthetics

The Project area is located approximately 1,200 feet south of Bernal Avenue. Due to this large
setback and the fact that only accessory structures are proposed, the Project is not expected to
block views of outlying scenic hillsides from Bemal Avenue. Four light poles of 60 feet in
height and six poles of 80 feet in height would only be visible to a limited extent during the
daytime hours.

Light

Two of the three baseball fields are planned to be developed with lighting for night play. The
largest of the three fields (Field 5) is designed for older-aged players and includes six light poles
measuring 80 feet in height. The second lighted field (Field 6) is intended for younger players
and is proposed to have four 60-foot high poles. The third field is presently planned for informal
daytime use only.

SR 05:195
Page 6
