· Funding for the Kottinger Creek Project
Staff Comment: Staff intends to present the City Council with a recommendation on this
project in August/September.

· Funding for City Gateway Signs
Staff Comment: The cost of completing this project is estimated at $112,300. Staff has
recommended utilizing $85,743 currently in project reserve and a transfer from CIP Project
Number 048051, Landscape Median Construction and Renovation, for the remaining project
costs. If the Council retains this project in the CIP, it will be placed on the Council's July 19
meeting consent calendar for approval of the contract for sign manufacturing and installation.

· Gingerbread Preschool Playground Renovation and Expansion
Staff Comment: This is a new project that has just recently been added to the CIP as an
unfunded project and staff is not recommending project funding at this time. Staff's approach
is to review the project in more detail during the upcoming fiscal year and, if necessary, to
potentially add it as a funded project as part of the Mid-Term budget.

· Kottinger Storm Drain Project
Staff Comment: This project was placed in the CIP in 1997 based on a request from the
Project Manager of Pleasanton Gardens who was concerned about potential flooding at his
project. Since this time, staff has conducted a thorough analysis of the project and determined
it is unnecessary. While this project is still technically in the CIP, (Meaning the it has not yet
been closed.) project funding was previously been transferred to other projects. As a result, it
will be removed as staff conducts the Mid-Term CIP review of projects.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REQUESTED AT WORKSHOP

At the June 8 workshop, the Council requested additional information regarding the current
funding balances of Council priority projects and balances of Parks and Miscellaneous projects
with discretionary funding that were funded previously but are not currently included in the
CIP. This information is included in Attachment C. In general, the information includes
updated information from our financial system. It does not incorporate outstanding
encumbrances that may impact the total funding available. If requested, staff can provide this
more detailed information for specific projects. Also, the listing does not include projects in
the water, sewer or street categories unless it is a current Council priority, debt service or
routine maintenance projects.

CONFORMANCE WITH GENERAL PLAN/PLANNING COMMISSION REVIEW

As part of the CIP approval process, the Planning Commission must adopt a resolution
indicating the Program is consistent with the General Plan.
