<br />a. No stock grazing or other types of vegetation control <br />measures sha11 be a110wed in open space areas except for <br />fire control measures. <br /> <br />b. Dogs shall be confined to sidewalk areas, lots, or <br />designated canine exercise areas to the extant that the <br />public access areas have been limited. <br /> <br />c. The use of native drought-resistant landscaping shall be <br />encouraged throughout the development. The applicant <br />shall include native drought-resistant landscaping on the <br />model home sites and shall provide a brochure listing <br />encouraged plant species and showing typical drought <br />resistant planting schemes. This brochure shall be made <br />available to all home buyers and the use of <br />drought-resistant landscaping shall be promoted in the <br />CC&R's. <br /> <br />d. All-terrain and off-road vehicles and camping shall be <br />prohibited in open space areas. <br /> <br />e. Each home buyer shall be provided with a nature <br />preservation awareness brochure, to be reviewed and <br />approved by the Planning Director prior to the first <br />building's completion. <br /> <br />24. Heritage Trees <br /> <br />a. A heritage tree plan subject to the approval of the <br />Design Review Board. The tree plan shall identify all <br />heritage trees on the developable portion of the site, <br />shall address protection measures during grading and <br />construction, shall address replacement of trees which <br />must be removed, and shall review the possibility of <br />relocating existing trees elsewhere on site. The plan <br />shall include detailed measures to protect trees, <br />including protective fencing approximately 5 feet outside <br />of the leaf canopy edge of a tree or grove wherever <br />grading or construction occurs within 50 feet of a <br />heritage tree, restrictions on irrigation within <br />driplines, and avoidance of lawns or other incompatible <br />plant materials in sensitive areas. In addition, all <br />lots which have downhill slopes adjacent to heritage <br />trees shall have a curb-type drain system or equivalent <br />installed along the length of the lot line adjacent to <br />such trees. No grading or soil compaction shall occur <br />within 4 feet of the leaf canopy edge of a tree, and the <br />edge shall be completely encircled with a strip of 20 <br />gauge aluminum flashing buried 12 inches deep to shunt <br />runoff water from the root zone. <br /> <br />Resolution No. PC-91-9 <br />F.~ruary 27, 1991 <br />
