He thought Mr.
McKeehan had responded to his question as to whether they had money set aside, not
Commissioner McGuirk.

MEETING OPEN FOR ANY MEMBER OF THE AUDIENCE TO ADDRESS THE
PLANNING COMMISSION ON ANY ITEM WHICH IS NOT ALREADY ON THE
AGENDA

There were none.

REVISIONS AND OMISSIONS TO THE AGENDA

Mr. Rasmussen requested that Tentative Tract Map 6452, Signature Properties, (Ruby Hill)
be continued to the next Planning Commission meeting in January 1992. The Commission
agreed to this request.

MATTERS INITIATED BY COMMISSION MEMBERS

1. Commissioner Horan called attention to an article in a newspaper regarding a number of
low income housing units in Alameda County that could be converted into low market rate
housing units. He noted that there are about 800 such units in Pleasanton. Some people
who rent at Kottinger Place have expressed concern that this could affect them. He asked
staff what the plan is for the administration of Kottinger Place and when the HUD
qualifications expire for this site. Mr. Rasmussen replied that staff would have to check
further into the matter and report back to the Commision; as part of the General Plan update,
the City is required to address this kind of situation.

2. Chairman Mahem noted that she had received a letter from the Mayor regarding the long
meeting held by the Commission some weeks ago. She said she would address this at the
end of the meeting.

3. Commissioner Michelotti and Mr. Higdon briefly discussed a signal light installation at
Stoneridge and Santa Rita. She concluded that she would further discuss the issue with the
Traffic Engineer.

4. Commissioner Hovingh stated that he has been requested by two members of the Design
Review Board to appeal the approval decision for Case Z-91-86, Douglas Brobst. He
clarified that the Board had approved the case, but he wished to appeal the case as the size of
the house is the issue. After further discussion it was concluded by the Assistant City
Attorney that the minutes could reflect the appeal request and a written request was not
deemed necessary.

Minutes Planning Commission
December 11, 1991

Page 2

.

.
